Hospital, four-star hotel and spa resort - SH Merkur pours more than RSD 300 m in new accommodation capacities in Vrnjacka Banja

(Future facility)Special hospital "Merkur" from Vrnjacka Banja started reconstruction of Romanija villa and if everything goes smoothly , the institution will open new hospital in the spring 2017 where guests will be provided with top medical service and enjoy comfort of the four-star hotel and luxurious spa resort.

It will be at the same time the first hotel in Vrnjacka Banja which will have its own source of mineral water.

As SB Merkur says for eKapija, the idea of this facility reconstruction has existed for longer period of time and implementation start was conditioned by preparation of necessary documentation and plan activities.

- The works on the facility have been carried out for year since the building is old and under protection of the bureau for protection of cultural monuments. After approval of the institutions, project was done December when construction permit for works was obtained as well.

Apart from reconstruction of the Romanija villa, new facility will be built also so total area will be 3.500 m2. Capacity is 75 beds with an option for expansion to up to 85 beds, with medical block as well as modern spa center and indoor swimming pool. New medical and tourist center will also have a restaurant with kitchen in line with HACCP standard as well as a conference hall.

- The first stage comprises rough works and apart from demolishing and cleaning of the site, only works on drill within facility were agreed since they planned to be aligned with the highest world standards, guests at this new Romanija use mineral water in the facility at all levels. The second stage comprises final works and facility equipping –SH "Merkur" says, adding that projects have been under audit at the moment after which release of tender ad contractor selection will follow.

According to estimations, the investment totals app. RSD 300 m without equipment value which will be installed in the facility. Merkur outlines that this will be another step towards vision and ledarer position in medical and catering services both in the Republic of Serbia and wider.

- Project implementation will last for a year and unofficial opening of this luxurious facility is expected in the spring 2017. Organizational scheme of operations has not been developed in details but it is estimated that app. 50 people will be engaged.

Special hospital "Merkur" generated in 2015 more than 180.000 overnight stays of local and more than 20.000 foreign guests.

During last year, new office building "Ekonomat" on 415 m2, which enabled organization od tasks in more efficient and effective manner. Apart from that, new pit on Vrnjci source Sneznik, one of the best known sources in Vrnjacka Banja was released and previous summer Merkur opened a luxurious spa center "Rimski izvor" – the biggest of this kind in this part of the Balkans.
