City of Belgrade sells Rankovic's villa in Senjak

The City of Belgrade is going to put Rankovic's villa in Senjak up for sale this autumn. This villa was once a residence of Aleksandar Rankovic, the former Yugoslav minister of internal affairs.

Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali said that this villa was a real example of the City of Belgrade's high value property representing dead capital at the moment because it only cost Belgrade money.

– This villa will be put up for sale in September or October, as soon as the appraisal is done - Sinisa Mali stresed.

According to him, the value of both villa and the 40-are land lot is estimated at about 4-4.5 million euros, which should be confirmed after the official appraisal.

The surface area of this house at 5 Andre Nikolica is 408 square meters. Its construction commenced before the World War I, and the villa got its current look after the war ended.

The villa belongs to the City of Belgrade and there is no restitution request filed for it, Mali said and added that the city had got in an exchange with the Olympic Committee of Serbia few years earlier.
