For the second year in a row, the business web portal eKapija has won the Virtus Award for Media Contribution which is presented to the media company whose texts, contributions or activities gave a special contribution to the development and improvement of the culture of philanthropy and charity in Serbia during one-year period.
In 2013 eKapija reported on events, companies and people - examples of good practice of socially responsible operations that contribute to the improvement of living conditions and life quality within the community, publishing nearly 700 documents since 2011 in its Filantropi (Philantropists) column.
In a bid to set example for other companies in Serbia to find a way to help others in this difficult economic situation, eKapija also joined B92 Fund's action "Battle for Maternity Wards" and together with four other companies donated refrigerators to Dr. Vukan Cupic Mother and Child Health Care Institute. Also, as a socially responsible company, eKapija presented the Aurea Investment of the Year Award in Serbia in 2013 for the fifth consecutive year.
For the 2013 Virtus Award, eKapija was nominated by Radmila Ivetic, the president of the non-government, humanitarian organization Banka Hrane (Food Bank).
The 2013 Virtus awards ceremony was held Saturday, January 18th, at Belgrade-based Hyatt Hotel. Mia Vukojevic, the executive director of Trag Fondacija, presented the award to Marija Kambic, the editor-in-chief of eKaija.
- We are very glad that our effort to promote companies and their socially responsible and humanitarian work has been recognized again. Therefore, this award belongs not only to eKapija, but also to all of you because if there were not for you, we wouldn't have anything to write about - Marija Kambic said in her address.

Nagrada za korporativnu filantropiju "Virtus" dodeljena je sedmi put za redom u 8 kategorija kompanijama i preduzećima koja su tokom 2013. godine na najdelotvorniji način doprinela opštem dobru, pružajući podršku neprofitnim akcijama ili organizacijama civilnog društva.
"Virtus" nagradu za doprinos na nacionalnom nivou dobila je "Naftna industrija Srbije" (NIS) za finansijsku podršku lokalnim zajednicama, u kojim NIS posluje kroz program društveno odgovornog poslovanja pod nazivom "Saradnja radi razvoja". Nagrada za doprinos lokalnoj zajednici pripala je Eurobanci za doprinos akciji "Veliko srce", a nagradu za malo i srednje preduzeće ponela je Slobodna zona Pirot. "Virtus" nagrada za dugoročno partnerstvo između profitnog i neprofitnog sektora pripala je "Telekom Srbija" za saradnju i partnerstvo sa organizacijom Dostignuća mladih u Srbiji, a "Delta holding" je dobila priznanje za doprinos socijalnom uključivanju za uređenje lokalnog inkluzivnog centra "Mesto susreta" u sklopu prvog Nacionalnog dana davanja. "Virtus" nagrada za najinovativniji projekat pripala je koncernu "Bambi" za akciju "Juhu! Igrališta", a nagradu za volontiranje ponela je Banca Intesa, koja kontinuirano sprovodi volonterske akcije u okviru korporativnog volonterskog programa "Intesa od srca".
Konkurs za "Virtus" nagradu organizuje "Trag Fondacija" (bivši Balkanski fond za lokalne inicijative) uz finansijsku podršku Evropske komisije i Tima za socijalno uključivanje i smanjenje siromaštva Vlade Republike Srbije (SIPRU) .
