Ivan Vujisic, Sales and Marketing Director of Wienerberger doo Kanjiza – Construction quality above all

Last year, Wienerberger celebrated its 200th anniversary, a truly important jubilee. They also celebrated the 150th anniversary of listing at the Vienna Stock Exchange. We talked to director Ivan Vujisic about the company`s successes and plans for the upcoming period.

How satisfied are you with the business results so far and what is the future of this industry?

– In these areas, the company has been stringing success after success for years now. Considering the numerous competition and various market challenges, we have managed to promote our systemic solutions, characterized by top quality and innovations, and bring them closer to investors. We believe that the concept of healthy living is the future in these areas as well, because we believe that we must focus on improving the quality of housing as well, especially if we accept the fact that we spend almost 90% of our lives indoors.

Wienerberger is oriented toward constantly investing resources in research directed at innovative ecological materials for the construction of energy efficient facilities, as well as facilities which create a healthy and pleasant micro-climate.

Can you tell us something more about the Tondach guarantee? How hard is it to guarantee for a product for such a long time period?

– When a company truly believes in its product and systemic solutions, it is not difficult to guarantee for the quality, even for a 33-year period. Our systemic solutions go through thorough internal and external tests by accredited institutions in the country and abroad, so we can responsibly provide that kind of guarantee. We need to keep in mind that each guarantee is as reliable as the company behind it. The Wienerberger guarantee is not marketing, but a contract with the clients, by which the company obliges to be a reliable partner for at least 33 years.

You offer innovative and sustainable systemic solutions for a healthy living concept. To what extent has this concept taken root in Serbia?

– As we`ve already mentioned, the concept of healthy living is directly related to the awareness of the populace of the impact the living environment has. It is extremely important to be aware of how spending time indoors affects our health and our psychological and physical capabilities. So, if we spend most of our time indoors, whether in schools, houses, at our workplaces, or in some other kind of space, we should ask ourselves what the micro-climate and the air are like in those spaces. Imagine spending most of your life in an environment which promotes the development of allergens, bacteria or mold. At Wienerberger, we take care of this problem for you! We develop innovative systemic solutions, made exclusively from natural materials – earth, air, water and fire, in a fully natural production process. Clay has been known for centuries as an extremely healthy, natural building material, which people have been using throughout history, trusting in its quality. Our materials are made from clay and as such, once built into a certain facility, they enable it to breathe. Clay is a porous material, which enables natural regulation of the micro-climate inside a facility. This enables natural ventilation of the facility, while preventing the possibility of the accumulation of mold, allergens and other micro-organisms in the facility. Our special clay products can protect you from noise as well. Considering that the products are baked at high temperatures during the production process itself, they are fire-resistant and do not emit any poisonous gases. Even the rainwater from a clay tile can be used safely, as our clay tiles are not coated with artificial paints, but with colored clay before being baked at high temperatures. We believe that there is a high degree of awareness in these areas when it comes to this topic and we are very oriented to healthy living and clay materials, which have been proven to be the healthiest. Finally, when it comes to clay, we all know that it is one of the healthiest materials even for food preparation.

What are your plans for the year ahead?

– Wienerberger is dedicated to constant investments. The plans for new investments are primarily related to automation and digitization of business processes. Furthermore, investing in human resources is of great importance as well, because we believe that our success depends on our employees to a large extent. We will try to set trends in healthy living and energy efficiency, but also to constantly improve the visual identity of our systemic solutions, all to the end of providing investors and designers with creative freedom. By presenting new products and systemic solutions, we will try to keep the leading position and provide a high level of service, as has been the case so far.
