Mali: There is no talk of EPS privatization

Finance Minister Sinisa Mali announced the strategy for the development of EPS by the end of May. Mali said that there is no talk of privatizing EPS, and that EPS needs to be the "true engine" of Serbia's development. He pointed out that the war in Ukraine showed all the shortcomings of the European energy system.

- Last year, when the conflict started in Ukraine, it was clear how important a strong energy sector is. We will come out with a project by the end of May, how much should we invest in which part of the energy sector - said Mali.

According to him, by 2030, 45% of EPS production should come from renewable sources, and foreign investors also demand that, when they buy electricity, it should be from renewable sources.

- There is no talk of EPS privatization. It must be the "true engine" of Serbia's development - said Minister Mali.
