As said, the construction of the section of the highway to Sarajevo from Sremska Raca to Kuzmin, 19 kilometers long, could be completed before the end of 2023, according to the website of the Government of Serbia.
When it comes to the second leg of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway, it will be built on the Pozega-Uzice-Kotroman-Visegrad-Sarajevo route.
The works on the construction of the highway on the other side of the Drina have not yet begun, because the manners of project financing have not been defined in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has offered that the country directly finance the works on the section between Sremska Raca and Bijeljina, worth EUR 100 million.
The total value of the project of the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway is close to EUR 4 billion, and it should be partially financed by Turkey as well. The contractor is the Turkish company Tasyapi.
