EU Ready to Support Construction of Railway from Belgrade to North Macedonia

The European Union is ready to support the construction of the railway between Belgrade and North Macedonia, Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, announced after her conversation with the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, today in Brussels.

– We talked about fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, economic recovery, the accession process, where we want to see the continuation of positive development in the rule of law, the dialogue of Belgrade and Pristina and the railway between Belgrade and North Macedonia, which we are ready to support – Ursula von der Leyen tweeted on her official account.

She added that she was glad that she had met with Vucic that day in Brussels.

Ahead of his talk with Ursula von der Leyen, the president of Serbia announced the possibility of agreement about “one of the biggest infrastructure projects”, supposed to change Serbia entirely.
