Impuls - a champion of the Serbian Ring - Ten best startups in Serbia "sparinged intellectually at Stari dvor in Begrade

The atmosphere at last night’s final competition of young entrepreneurs, RingSerbian within the global Get in the Ring project (GITR) at the Assembly of theCity of Belgrade was tensed just like at the boxing match. While this timegloves for box were only decoration while your presentations were in the firstplan. Ten finalists were competing in the strengths of their ideas. Couples of representativeswere presenting their entrepreneurial ideas lasting two and a half minutes through five rounds – presentation,business models, finance (funding sources) and free style. .

Intellectual sparing

As if the beginning, it was exciting in the ring. The ice breakers were AcademLinkand Cast4Pro. AcademLink is a mix of science and business and refers to base ofscientific works and every week this startup sends newsletter to 18.000 addresses.Cast4Pro is a mix of movie and IT and it is a tool for online castings which enableproduction companies to get to actors they need for different projects.AcademLink won in this duel.

After them Victor production and ChargerMapp entered the ring. Victor productionpresented phone application for automatic users’ rescue which monitors vitalbody functions and reacts to changes. ChargerMapp provides solutions for peoplein the move through an application which shows mobile devices charging spots. ChargerMapp won this round.

Nolio and FabLab. Nolio is anagriculture farm which processes its products in edible oils since 2012. They are planning to export their productsabroad and next year they are planning production program expansion. They competedwith a lab FabLab which enables people to materialize their ideas throughdigital and manual tools. The platform is carried out in integrated andmultidisciplinary dynamics and it is a part of the FabLab global network Noliowon.

The fourth sparring partners of young entrepreneurs were BuildCon andFrontierFacility. BuildCon team is developing an application for development etof construction site organization - "check lists" for activity monitoringon site are only for the staff at the site. FrontierFacility designs hardware, softwareand mobile solutions for maintenance of buildings systems. BuildCon won. Thechampion of this sparring at the end of this event got the award of the publicwhich had a chance to vote via www.ringsrbija.com.

MyQuard and Impuls were the last couple in the ring. MyQuard is a servicefor SMEs to make online presentation. Impulsmeasures social networks pulse. It is software which understands how peoplefeel and behave on social networks. The tool is planned for PR and marketingagencies and it connects sellers and buyers.

Panel of judges comprising Nikole Vucinic, member of Managing Board at the Associationof the young entrepreneurs of Serbia, Nebojsa Lazic from StartLabs, regionalcompany head at EY, Stephen James Fish, Aleksandar Cabrilo, representative ofbusiness angels and a dean of the FEFA University, Ana Trbovic and the audienceselected the best. The jury did not have an easy task but Impuls was selectedas the best startup of the first Ring Serbia competition. The second-ranked was Nolio and the thirdranked was AcademLink.

The winner of the competition will not have plenty of time to enjoy theaward since new competitions are underway. As Filip Radojicic, president of the Association of young entrepreneurs of Serbia, saidfor eKapija, regional competition in Sophia will be held November 17.

Finalists in incubator

Ring Serbiahelps startups through mentoring, networking and easier access to necessaryfinancial funds to become fast-growing companies.

In cooperation with the Directorate of the City of Belgrade, ten finalistswho presented themselves at last night’s competition will get the opportunityto develop their startups in incubator of the Association of young entrepreneursof Serbia where they will have accounting and legal services as well asbusiness program of Erasmus center for entrepreneurship from the Netherlands.

This year for the first time in our country, the Association of young entrepreneursof Serbia (UMPS) in cooperation with Erasmus center for entrepreneurshiporganized Ring Serbia with the support of the City of Belgrade, Telekom Srbija, EY, Serbian Chamber of Commerce, etc.
