One-off windfall profit tax for assignees as well – Tax Directorate takes decisions from 2001 from their drawers
The Tax Directorate is planning to start profit tax payment collection in line with the decisions which were kept in drawers for more than a decade, it was confirmed for Blic. Extra profiteers from 2001 will have to pay the tax because the law implies payment collection from their physical or legal assignees. Decisions of one-off windfall profit tax payment which the Tax Directorate is taking put of its drawers after 13 years cannot age.
The Law on one-off windfall profit tax governs that debt shall be transferred to assignees if a tax payer is a physical entity, i.e. new company owner.
Extra profiteers were delivered 500 tax decisions totaling some DM 300 m. The Tax directorate refuses to communicate who received them. According to the published data, the list comprised Velefarm, Jugomontana, Granexport and Zupa... Some of them complained to courts so they tax was decreased or wrote off.
Only from five companies (BK group, Simpo, Stankom, Delta M and RTV Pink) the
state collected extra profit payments totaling some DM 85 m. In Simpo, they say
the company paid DM 5, 1 m for extra profit tax and that the funds have never
been returned.
