One strategic partner interested in Utva, the plant for airplanes production

Apart from Staklara (glass factory), Azotara and Petrohemija,another Pancevo-based company is waiting for a new owner - Utva avionic plant, where some 200 people work.

- We have unofficial information that one company applied for a strategic partner. We thing it is good that Utva continues operations in its field and to expand. There are some talks with respect to planes, helicopters, pilot-free planes from special industry. It is important that Utva was selected to be the company of special importance for the defense of Serbia which will provide importance in decision of how it will transform- Tomislav Bjelogrlic, Plant Manager at Utva avionicsays for Radio-Television Pancevo.

It will soon be known who is interested in Utva and how many potential investors there are.

The option of agreement and cooperation with Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala still exists, although nothing has been defined.

Although Utva has still been working the situation became more difficult because after the Agency for Privatization announced the sale,the status of the company in restructuring was cancelled. It means there is no discount, neither for paying bills to the state nor to public sector. Therefore, it is very important for Utva to end the process of the search for strategic partner as soon as possible, RTV Pancevo reports.
