Six lanes to Europe - "FCC" signed contract worth 800m EUR with Government of Serbia on allotment of concession for Horgoš –Požega highway
Yesterday (March 30, 2007), Minister of Capital Investments, Velimir Ilić, and the President of Spanish company "FCC", Hose Major Oreja, finally signed the contract on allotment of concession for construction of highway on Horgoš - Požega section after negotiations that lasted for several months.
Ilić pointed out that that project, worth more than 800m EUR, was part of Corridor 10 and one of the largest projects in the history of Serbia.
- In spite of pressures, schemes and challenges, this Government has managed to finish this project, extremely important for the development of Serbia. The Government is not burdened by the contract because the project will be financed by the incomes from the tolls – said Ilić.
The Manager of company "FCC", Alejandro Tuya Garcia, pointed out that the co-concessionaire, company "Alpine Myreder", was present in Serbia for 7 years and that it had 800 workers. According to him, that number will be significantly bigger when the construction of this highway commences.
