Surcin to pour some EUR 6m into budget – Nikola Tesla airport invests EUR 2m in infrastructure by the end of 2014
By the end of the year, the Nikola Tesla airport should pour EUR 6m into budget. Additional EUR 2m will be invested the airport infrastructure. They are planning additional savings.
One of the measures expected to provide significant result is reorganization as well as different profit distribution of public companies. The Nikola Tesla airport, although in plus for years, paid a significantly lower amount than expected.
With August, the airport served three million and 100 thousand passengers. If they continue this way, the end of the year should see over 4, 5 m passengers and the biggest service user is Air Serbia. Therefore, it was decided to pour additional EUR 2m into airport infrastructure.
GM at Nikola Tesla, Sasa Vlaisavljevic, thinks that with new management and budget rebalance, there is an option to pay at least EUR 6, into the budget by the end of the year.
The funds were provided through halting unnecessary procurements of EUR 8m, three million of unnecessary costs were cut and there is a possibility that certain funds will be saved through headcount optimization.
- Over 1.200 people works through youth associations and only 490 with open-end contracts. This is where we see big opportunity for the next year. Thus, we could generate savings of over a billion dinars - Vlaisavljevic says.
The Nikola Tesla airport received from the Government of Serbia guidelines how to act in case of new low-cost companies appear on our market.
They can be subsidized only in the first two years and after that they will have to pay for the services as others, at the airport’s pricelist. Thus, all speculations that someone has more benefits than others are avoided and everyone can plan his own business.
