Insert a coin and wash a dog - Novi Sad the first Serbian town to get Dog Wash Bubble pet salon

Since the beginning of September, the citizens of Novi Sad have the opportunity to bring their pet into a unique saloon for self-service dog wash! "Dog Wash Bubble" is the only salon in Serbia with an automatic bath for pets which starts when you insert a banknote. You wash and dry your dog on your own without the need to appoint and the program lasts some 10 minutes.

For all the dog owners, especially the ones with bigger pets, bathing sometimes is a nightmare. In the Dog Wash Bubble salon, bath is RSD 500 (a ten minute program), and you can buy two minutes more for RSD 100 or four for RSD 200. Automatic bath takes coins also of RSD 10 and 20 so you can additionally buy a few more seconds if you are ending the bath.

The owner gets an apron at the beginning so that he or she would not get wet and the machine is complete safe and comfortable for all the dogs. Cats can be also bathed in it if an owner finds they need cleaning.

This is the first business venture of Sanja Novak and Jovane Stankovic and although the girls are not from the branch directly connected to animals, they came to an interesting idea because they also know how difficult sometimes it is to bath a dog in a flat. "We also have dogs which are getting bigger and which are becoming more demanding”, they say. We were thinking how Novi Sad does not offer an option like "pit-stop", i.e. just like in a car wash where you do not need an appointment or waiting, they opted to open that kind of a salon.

They procured the machine in Croatia, from Daruvar-based Kobid. They needed EUR 15.000 to start the business.

Although the point of the self-service wash is that the owner baths his or her pet on his own, if he or she wants it, someone else can do it instead.

- Again, we have that option as well, to bath pets instead of owners with certain compensation.

We asked why it is better to bring a dog to a self-service wash than take it to a dog salon.

- With us, bath is faster, funnier, easier and more favorable. We offer something a bit different, ten funny and useful minutes both for an owner and a pet -Sanja Novak explains.

Shampoos currently used in Dog Wash Bubble are pet silk brand and the owners got it together with the machine. Majority of American groomers use it.

Although it is still early for the first business results, customers of Dog Wash Bubble salon speak only the best for it.

Still, it is a new thing on the market, people are slowly becoming familiar with the dog bathing “machine”.

Salon which operates under the slogan "A place of pure love" is located at Bulevar cara Lazara St. no.104. The opening hours are: Tuesday through Friday, 9 to 14h and 17 to 21 and Saturdays and Sundays 16-21.

- It is still early to speak about specific future business moves. We have certainly planned this move ahead, including another city in Serbia through expansion of the range of service – Sanja Novak says.
