DIN: From losses to dividends, another successful business year

Tobacco Industry in Niš (DIN), which operates within company "Phillip Morris", achieved total net profit in amount of 4.7 billion RSD in 2006. This has been announced by DIN.

The achieved net profit from the basic operations in last year amounts to 3.4 billion RSD, which is 150% more than in 2005, while the total profit has been increased through “careful management of cash and funds, as well as significant improvement of production program through introduction of new domestic and international trademarks, especially thanks to the domestic production of Marlboro brand“.

The people from DIN state that the good result was achieved thanks to the investment in amount of 50 billion RSD in the technology, equipment and organization since "Philip Morris" took over DIN in 2003. It has been estimated that the good results of DIN would enable covering of losses from earlier years and consideration of the decision about distribution of the remaining amount through dividends.
