France is still the most-visited country in the world
Last year, 84,7 mil of foreign tourists visited France which ranks the country again the first at the list of the most attractive countries, before USA and Spain.
In 2013, the number of foreign tourists in France went up by 2% compare to the
previous year but it is still far from100 mil, the figure decided by the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, French Figaro reports.
In 2013, after France, the most visited countries are USA and Spain with 69, 8
and 60,7 million tourists respectively.
Last year, the French capital also remained the first world tourist destination
among cities. In 2013, the European tourists visited Paris in lager number than
in 2012, 1,2 % more, starting fro the Germans in 13 mil (+6,5%), followed by the tourists from Great Britain.
There was a smaller number of the guests from Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy and
Spain, it was stated at the Study of the Directorate for competition with the
Ministry of Economy.
In 2013, the biggest number of tourists in France, after the Europeans, came from the North America where there was an
increase of 5,8 %, after the fall of 7,8 % in 2012.
A total of 4,5 million tourists from Asia visited France which is 13% more than in 2012 and the largest number of guests came from China (1,7 mil) with an increase of 23,4 % compared to 2012.
Furthermore, the Study outlines that the number of Chinese tourists in France in the period 2009-2013 doubled. Contrary to that, last year, there were 6, 7% of Japanese guests less which are interpreted with the yen fall compared to euro.
Apart from that, the average length of stay extended from 6,9 overnight stays in 2012 to7,7 last year.
