Drying of fruit and vegetables with maximal energy efficiency – Innovative hot house could be at the market in early 2015

The idea of prototype of the automatic run-of-river hot house for drying offruit, vegetables and spice plants based on energy efficiency principles ofVladan Pantovic from Knic won at the regional forumof Philanthropy for green ideas inlate July in Albania.

At the competition of the National forum for green ideas, the invention ofPantovic was second-ranked. The award at the national competition totaling USD7000 as well as the award of USD 10.000 for the first place at the regionalcompetition in Albania, the Knic team will invest in the development of hothouse prototype based on technical documentation which they already have aswell as on the overall business idea, Igor Kojcic, Project Manager whopresented the idea in Albania, said for eKapija.

According to our collocutor, compared to the existing hot houses, theawarded hot house is of run-of-river. This means that raw product moves throughhot house which provides numerous competitive advantages of hot houses.

"Exploitation" of hot house during the entire year

Hot house prototype will be with the capacity 350 – 500 kilogram of plumssince capacities of hot house is measured in plum drying capacity.

- It will be modular which means we will be able to easily adapt of 350 kilograms until 2000 kilograms. Due to the construction and different technical solutions as well as solar panels, we expect significant energy savings. Secondly, our hot house will use biomass as well – a collocutor of eKapija explains.

As Kojcic says, technical features of hot house enable dispersion production of final products in uniform quality”.

Company underway soon

The business objective of our team from Knic is to, apart from production and sale of hot houses, set u a company and from different sources provides initial capital for production of 20-30 hot houses.

Next year to see the first product

The project was developed by six team members and the main idea creator is Vladan Pantovic from Knic or , as he says, fromo Becevica.

Igor Kojcic expects their products will appear at the market in early 2015 and since they are starting production of prototype, they do not have final calculations of hot house production price.
