LJAJIC: Prevention of goods from EU arrives to Russia
After bad experience with meat, every attempt of sale of food, fruit and vegetables from EU through Serbia to Russia will be prevented, the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication, Rasi Ljajic, said.
After Moscow decided to ban import of fruit, vegetables and other food from EU, different calculations, announcements even discussions on, for instance, importing apples from Macedonia and Bulgaria which would be exported through Serbia to Russia followed, Ljajic said.
- We must not allow that because this way we would raise the question of the entire export from Serbia to Russia. In order to prevent that, our customs will be engaged additionally and producers and exporters who try to earn through misdealing, will suffer severe sanctions – Ljajic said for tomorrow’s Blic.
He mentioned that foreigners can set up a company in Serbia and export to Russia but that goods must be produced in our country.
Lajic confirmed that tomorrow he is meeting with the representatives of the Association of fruits of Serbia, Tax directorate, Directorate for plants protection, the Ministry of agriculture and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
We must prevent repacking, falsification and re-export but also to fulfill all sanitary, hygiene,health and other standards which are rigorous. The Russians prepared new regulation on 4000 pages with strictly proscribed terms and criteria to be fulfilled and our producers must be familiar with it, Ljajic said.
