Regional Recycling center in Kalenić, worth 20m EUR, to solve problem with waste in 11 municipalities

Mayors of ten municipalities - Obrenovac, Lazarevac, Barajevo, Koceljeva, Ub, Lajkovac, Ljig, Mionica, Osečina and Valjevo - agreed in Valjevo on founding of business company for management of regional dump with the recycling center in Kalenić, near Ub.

According to the adopted plans, four transfer stations will be formed, in Valjevo, Obrenovac, Barajevo and Lazarevac, in which the collected waste will be prepared for recycling and burning.

The Recycling center will be collecting waste from 300,000 households on the territory of 11 municipalities from the Mačva and the Kolubara regions and parts of municipalities of Barajevo, Lazarevac, Obrenovac.

The investment worth 20m EUR will be placed within next four years. At the beginning of 2008, the burning of the first casettes with waste will take place in the new Recycling center.
