Offer richer, prices same – Montenegro expects more than 1m tourists next season

Last weekeng, large number of guests gathered in Budva, mostly from Serbia, Republic of Srpska and Russia, and the occasion was the International Tourist Stock Exchange, at which 180 exhibitors were represented.

- The offer on all tourist locations in Montenegro has been improved and big number of new hotels has been categorized. We expect income of 350m EUR and the arrival of 1,100,000 tourists this season - said Predrag Nenezić, the Minister of Tourism and Environment PRotection, at the opening of the International Tourist Stock Exchange in Budva.

According to his words, the plan is that the number of employees in tourism sector be increased to total of 15,000 workers and that the number of lodging capacities with 3-5 stars be enlarged. Total of 2.2m EUR will be invested in water supply, 2.7m EUR in electricity supply, while the improvement of traffic infrastructure will require over 10m EUR.

In addition to the National Tourist Organization of Montenegro, the tourist offer for the forthcoming summer season in Herceg Novi, Kotor, Tivat and other seaside locations in Montenegro have also been represented.
