Establishment of first special economic zone in the Balkans in the pipeline
Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic spoke on July 4th with the president of the Serbian Institute from Washington, Danijel Sremac, and the director of the Babson Global institute for development programs from Boston, Schanker Sigam, the Serbian government announced in a release.
The topic of their meeting was a joint project of the Serbian Institute and Babson Global to create the first special economic zone in the Balkans which would provide exceptional opportunities for investors.
Such zones are best known for regulatory autonomy similar to that in Dubai or Hong Kong, which aims to promote quick establishment of companies and employment as well as to provide support to the rights of businessmen and free competition.
