A decision on whether to resume the work on the train station Prokop, whose first phase of construction will be financed with the proceeds of a Kuwaiti loan of EUR 26 million and will take 18 months to complete, should be made by the end of this week.

As Serbian Railways CEO Dragoljub Simonovic announced, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development has approved of the Report submitted by the tender committee for the completion of construction of the future main train station Beograd centar in Prokop. Works will be carried out by a domestic consortium led by Energoprojekt Holding.

This project includes the construction and reconstruction of 10 railway tracks, few platforms, ICT network, several energy facilities and access roads for passengers.

Upon the completion of the first phase of construction, the train station Prokop will be capable of receiving and dispatching all international passenger, local and regional trains, which is not possible at the moment.
