Foreign investors welcome Government's measures - Vucic announces adoption of Labor Law in few weeks
The Labor Law will be submitted to the National Assembly of Serbia for adoption within the next few weeks, it was said at a meeting between Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and the representatives of foreign companies in Serbia.
The representatives of foreign companies were mostly interested in the part of the Labor Law that deals with the payment of severance pays to redundant workers.
They pointed out that it was very important to set deadlines for adopting important regulations affecting the improvement of business environment.
PM Vucic had several meetings with businessmen on Tuesday, after which the Government should formulate new measures for recovering the economy.
Foreign investors are satisfied with the measures presented by PM Vucic. The Labor Law will be adopted in the shortest time possible.
- The plan of the Serbian government to take on the obligation to pay all taxes to the state for certain number of newly employed workers is a good measure - said Milos Djurkovic, the director of Hewlett-Packard Serbia.
He told the press after the meeting between the top foreign investors in Serbia and PM Aleksandar Vucic that that measure would jump start the economy and lead to new hires.
In addition to Djurkovic, this meeting was also attended by NIS CEO Kirill Kravchenko, Telenor Serbia CEO Owe Fredheim, Air Serbia CEO Dane Kondic, Vip mobile CEO Dejan Turk, Slobodan Petrovic from the investment fund Salford, and the representatives of the Mercator retail chain.
