The Slovakian company wants to build four biogas plants that will generate both electricity and heat. They are interested in the location around Flora, the facility for processing fruits and vegetables of PIK Becej.
Severinyi said that PIK would have a great beneefit from that agreement.
– Once this system is up and running, we expect to get heat at minimum 50 percent lower price than now. PIK will benefit from this, and it will also sign commercial contracts to sell waste material used to produce gas - Severinyi said after signing a protocol.
Biotec's owner Jurij Cibak unveiled the plans of his company.
– Our interest lies in the production of power from agricultural waste from the production as well as from expired goods. We are going to invest a total of between 8 million and 12 million euro - one biogas plant cost EUR 2 million, while the exact cost of the project depends on the heating system we pick for Flora - Cibak told Becejski mozaik.
