Three years ago Vršac's public was positively shocked by sensational news – the remainder of the Panonian Sea found in the middle of their artificial lake. The claim supported by the facts left those who said it speechless. They asked for one thing and they found something completely unbelievable...

Professor Dr. Mihailo Milovanović from the Institute for Hydrogeology of Mining-Geological Faculty in Belgrade, says that the sea water flows out from one of the springs on Vršac's lake, and that it is diluted in proportion 1:4, with high presence of iodine, sulfate, magnesium and calcium, and, in spite of the fact that it comes from the depth of 200 meters, it has stable temperature of about 25 degrees. That is restorable inexhaustible resource, not only judging by its mass, but also its temperature and minerals. The water is of excellent quality, it has no bacteria, it's sterile and few million years old. Vršac have opportunity for undreamed-of development. It can use lake 365 days a year, there is possibility of construction of Aqua center, thermal spa, as well as heating of some parts of the city or heating of various aqua plants, which is very profitable. The sea water in artificial lake, of exceptional quality, is similar to that in Hungarian spas used for classical therapeutic, recreational and certain commercial purposes.
