Renovation of town of Golubac to start soon - Tenders invited from potential contractors

Austrian Development Agency (ADA) has announced five tenders to select the most favorable contractor fot the renovation of the medieval town of Golubac.

The deadline to submit bids is April 28, while an agreement with selected contractors will be signed July 22. All works must be completed by 22 July 2016.

Contractors are to build new detours, a new tunnel by the fortress, a visitor center for tourists, complete infrastructure and banks, as well as to reconstruct the fortress itself.

The first phase of this IPA project financed by the European Union with EUR 6.6 million will see the relocation of the Djerdap main route outside the fortress and the reconstruction of ramparts and all ten towers of the fortress, followed by the construction of an amphitheater, dock foc cruisers, restaurants, bicycle and walking trails, sports courts, swimming pools, fishing village, suites, studios for artists, and a marina for boats.
