Oil magnate Dino Patriciu intends to buy NIS
Dino Patriciu, the majority owner of Romanian-American company "Rompetrol Group", confirmed that that company wanted to buy Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS).
- "Rompetrol Group" now has two poles of one bridge between east and west Europe, which we try to merge. NIS fits into that strategy and we believe that the merging of these two companies can result in excellent synergy - said Patriciu.
He pointed out that both NIS and "Rompetrol Group" had refineries with the exit on the Danube, so that the exchange of products and raw materials was also possible. In that way, NIS would have access to the new markets, through "Rompetrol's" facilities.
"Rompetrol Group" is the company with the headquarters in Netherlands, which started most of its activities in the region of the Black Sea. In 2005, it became the owner of independent company "Dyneff Group", with the wholesale and retail network in France and Spain.
