Financier sought for Subotica-Szeged railroad
While touring the railroad in company with the representatives of Hungary's Bacs-Kiskun County, Pastor noted that the project would be implemented through cooperation between the two countries, stressing that he had learned that Hungary would secure its part of investment through European projects.
Reconstruction of this railroad is to be carried out in two phases, the first of which is aimed at enabling speeds up to 120 km/h and would cost EUR 190 million.
According to Pastor, the second phase would require an investment of EUR 100 million to enable speeds up to 160 km/h.
The railroad between Subotica and Szeged is 40 kilometers long and is currently in a very bad condition.
