Spanish businessmen on visit to Belgrade - Representatives of 17 companies to meet with Serbian colleagues between March 25 and 27

A delegation of 17 Spanish companies will visit Belgrade between March 25 and 27, with the aim of exploring investment opportunities and establishing mutual cooperation with Serbian partners, the Embassy of Spain to Belgrade announced Friday.
These companies from Spain operate in a variety of fields, such as infrastructure, energy, preservation of the environment, the automotive industry, the economic department of the Embassy of Spain to Belgrade said in a release.
This visit is organized by the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade in cooperation with the Economic and Trade Department of the Spanish Embassy to Belgrade.
In the opinion of Spanish businessmen, Serbia is one of the most significant economies in southeast Europe and represents a very attractive destination for Spanish investors.
The official start of the visit of aforementioned business delegation will be marked 26 March 2014 at Metropol Hotel in Belgrade.
After the introductory program, Spanish companies will have bilateral meetings with local institutions and companies interested in cooperation and establishment of strategic partnerships.
Serbia is Spain's main economic partner in the Western Balkans, and the interest of Spanish companies in Serbia as a potential investment destination is constantly on a rise. The trade between the two countries in the past few years shows an upward trend with Spain's exports to Serbia totaling EUR 139.7 million and Serbia's exports to Spain amounting to EUR 93.2 million in 2013.
According to the data provided by the National Bank of Serbia, Spain has invested a total of EUR 78.3 million in Serbia in the past three years.
Spain is a leader in the development of wind energy (1st in Europe, 4th in the world), solar energy, biofuel, biomass, hydro and thermal energy (three of the world's five largest companies engaged in the production of thermal energy come from Spain).
