Bancarevo tunnel on eastern end of Corridor X drilled

Right tube of Bancarevo tunnel on the eastern end of Corridor X was drilled today on the Prosek-Crvena Reka stretch, between Nis and Bela Palanka.

The length of the right tube of this tunnel is 705 meters, whereas left tube, which is still under construction, will be 678 meters long. The agreed value of this project is EUR 19.8 million.

The value of the equipment for this tunnel is estimated at EUR 3.4 million and will be the subject of a separate agreement, it was announced when the tunnel was drilled.

Bancarevo is the third tunnel drilled out of the eight tunnels to be built in Serbia.

Today's ceremony of drilling the right tube of the tunnel was attended by Transportation Minister Aleksandar Antic, Czech Ambassador to Belgrade Ivana Hlavsova, and the representatives of Koridori Srbije and the contractor - Czech company Subterra.
