PKC rents production hall in Smederevo – Finns invest EUR 8m in production of auto-cabling
Job applications for the 300 employees required will be accepted until 7 March, according to Beta news agency.
A first group of 20 workers from Smederevo travelled to Poland at the beginning of February to be trained as factory instructors, with a second group of the same size travelling today.
PKC produces cables for the auto industry, and will invest around EUR 8m in equity capital by 2016. They plan to employ some 1,500 workers.
On the occasion of signing an investment memorandum with the Finnish company last October, First Vice-President of the outgoing Serbian Government Aleksandar Vučić described it as a powerful, large, serious company that operates in 10 countries on four continents.
“Three hundred jobs been advertised, and our Finnish partners will announce today when work will start. The hall will be finished by the end of the year, with the first 500 employees starting work and creating the conditions for employing another 1,000”, said Smederevo Mayor Jasna Avramović to Beta.
She explained that the hall will be let to the Finnish partner for 10 years at 3.2 EUR/m2, and that the investment in the hall`s construction will be paid over this period.
