The Republic Agency for Electronic Communications (RATEL) and the operators that render electronic communication services through public landline phone networks have signed a Protocol on the implementation of the Regulations on landline number portability in public phone networks.

This will allow landline phone users in Serbia to port their number from one network to another without changing it as of April 1st.

The aim of the signing of the Protocol is to harmonize the procedures related to administrative issues that can emerge in the process of transferring the phone number, it is said in a release published on the website of RATEL.

The Protocol was signed by the director of the Republic Agency for Electronic Communications and the representatives of the following operators: Telekom Srbija, Telenor, Serbia Broadband - Srpske kablovske mreze, IKOM , Invest Inzenjering, Beogrid, Knight Development Support, JET TV.

The release reads that the commutation-signalling network between Telekom Srbija and Telenor, SBB and Orion Telekom was successfully tested between February 3 and 21.
