Nutrichem processing from UK interested in acquiring part of Zupa
British company Nutrichem processing, which is engaged in the production of bluestone, is interested in buying the sulphate factory of the chemical company Zupa, Director of the Nutrichem office in Belgrade Nebojsa Stanisavljevic told Tanjug news agency.
According to him, this company produces about 50,000 tonnes of bluestone annually and has an annual turnover of USD 110 million.
- Our plan is to restart bluestone production at Zupa and increase it to full capacity (4,500 tonnes), and after that we may also acquire a stake in that company. We already have our market and work with 70 countries world wide, and the rest is up to Zupa - said Stanisavljevic.
Zupa CEO Bojan Cvetkovic confirmed to Tanjug that Nutrichem processing was interested in buying aforementioned factory.
Aside from starting the production of bluestone again, Zupa will also boost xanthate production for Mining Smelter Basin (RTB) Bor.
Zupa currently employs about 70 workers. For the needs of increased xanthate production, the company will hire additional 50 workers. The deal with RTB Bor will total about RSD 10 million per month, the CEO of Zupa specified.
Zupa was left by 320 workers five months ago who all received a severance pay. Since then, the company has hired about 70 workers who are paid on a regular basis.
