By the decision of the European Commission, Serbia will participate in the Creative Europe programme. With a budget of EUR 1.46 billlion, this programme will provide a boost for the cultural and creative sectors.

According to the decision made February 1st, Serbia and another nine countries that are not members of the EU will participate in the support programme focusing on culture. The green light for participation in that programme is still awaited by Switzerland, Israel and Morocco, among others.

The European Commission's new programme Creative Europe 2014-2020 for Europe's cultural and creative sectors entered into force in 2014, thus replacing the Culture programme for the period 2007-2013 in which Serbia participated.
