Slovenian companies want to work with Fiat
Slovenia's automotive industry wants to increase its presence in the European car market so it offers cooperation to large manufacturers such as Fiat.
Last week the representatives of 20 companies, manufacturers of car parts that are members of the Automotive Cluster of Slovenia (AKS), were staying in Turin at Fiat's invitation and spoke about the terms of possible cooperation, the web portal poslovni.hr reports.
So far there has not been any serious cooperation between Slovenians and Fiat, so this visit was mainly informative in nature.
As AKS President Dusan Busen told the Ljubljana daily Delo, Turin was visited by companies that Fiat could use as suppliers of parts for its cars of the next generation. These are mainly small city, environment-friendly cars with advanced technological characteristics.
No concrete agreement has been signed to date, but the media in Slovenia believe that few agreements are very close to conclusion.
The Slovenian automotive industry would also like to boost its presence in Fiat's operations in Serbia, at Fiat automobili Srbija (FAS) factory that makes 500L.
