Signed Protocol on preparation of the project Ruma-Novi Sad road

Protocol on the preparation of the project of building the road from Ruma to Novi Sad , which will include a tunnel through Fruska gora and a bypass around Petrovaradin, Irig and Ruma, has been signed today in the Government of Serbia.

For the preparation of project documentation republic and provincial governments have allocated 200 million RSD, as it was announced at a press conference.

The protocol was signed by the Minister of Regional Development and Local Government Igor Mirović , Prime Minister of Vojvodina Bojan Pajtic , Novi Sad Mayor Miloš Vucevic, Irig Municipality President, Vladimir Petrovic , Ruma Municipality President, Dragan Panic, director of "Corridor of Serbia " Dmitar Djurovic and director of "Roads of Serbia " Zoran Drobnjak.

Mirović said that the plan of the Ministry and the Government of Vojvodina in the next year is jointly funding of the project documentation, but he could not specify when would the works begin nor what would their value be.

He said that the plan was to have the project tasks prepared in January, and then define the procurement for the contractor, who would perform work according the entire project documentation.

- It is intended to implement this project in a reasonable time, as this road is of great importance for Serbia and Vojvodina, through large investments and therefore we need to have a completed project documentation, which was earlier not the case - said Mirović.

He added that this is the most important investment for the ministry, with the construction of Morava corridor and highway from Kragujevac to Corridor 10.

Prime Minister of Vojvodina Bojan Pajtic said that the provincial government has defined that this highway should be part of the highway to the border of Romania, which will provide connection between Banat and southern Backa and Srem with Belgrade- Zagreb highway and it will create an investment climate that exists in Srem along Corridor 10.

He added that this project is very important to attract investment. Pajtić explained that there will be formed a working group for the project preparation and a working group for the preparation of work contracts.
