MIHAJLOVIC: 2014 is the year of investments into energy and public companies reformation

December 26, the Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection, Prof. PhD Zorana Mihajlovic, said that 2014 will be featured by reforms of public companies and implementation of investments in energy sector.
- In Q1 next year, it will be known who with the thermal power plant Stavalj with a mine field will be built. The Assembly of Serbia verified the Agreement for construction of reversible hydro power plant Bostrica and development of the Feasibility Study is underway – Mihajlovic said at the press conference.
Reminding of the results 2013, the Minister pointed out defined legislation framework essential for investments, prepared changes of five laws in the environmental protection field and signed contract for the construction of the new thermal power plant in Serbia, after almost thirty years i.e. the third block in thermal power plant Kostolac.
Mihajlovic said that in 2014, reform of public companies, Srbijagas and Electroprivreda Srbije (Electric Power Industry of Serbia) which will become a shareholder company in Q1 2014, will be one of the priorities.
She announced that the government will soon decide on financial restructuring of Srbijagas, adding that EPS will have to move faster next year because as of January 1, 2014 mid-voltage electricity market will liberalize.
- I think EPS woke up and I expect things to move in Srbijagas as well – Mihajlovic said.
