Private hospital “Medigroup” has been opened in place of “Beogradski KBC”
Last night, general hospital “Medigroup”, with seven specialised departments and 350 employees, was open in the presence of many guests, professionals, partners and media. The hospital is a contemporary and modern facility, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, and also includes a maternity ward. The general hospital was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Ljubić, medical director, and Dr. Lajoš Fabijan, president of the Supervisory Board.
“Medigroup” is in fact a platform consisting of the medical centre “Dr Ristić”, health centre “Jedro” and special gynaecology hospital with maternity ward “Jevremova”. The hospital is located in the building of the former private clinic KBC in Novi Beograd, and it covers a total of 6,000 square metres.
As the management said during the opening ceremony, forming the general hospital “Medigroup” is a result of a two-year work of medical and financial experts, motivated by desire to offer high-quality, well organised, comprehensive medical care in the field of private health care in Serbia.
- The birth of “Medigroup” means that our citizens now have access to medical care that has until recently only been available in developed societies. This is also the best equipped general hospital in our region. More than one hundred top experts will perform precise diagnostics and optimal treatment, with maximum safety and care for their patients, in a very comfortable environment – they said.
And if someone asked us to compare this hospital to a similar state institution, we could say freely that this is like comparing apples and oranges.
Even though the general hospital “Medigroup” already employs a large number of specialists, they intend to employ more experts in the coming period. They believe that this would contribute to slowing down brain drain of young intellectuals.
The maternity ward started operating in the general hospital and they are proud to say that three babies have already been born there.
The former private clinic “Beogradski KBC” was opened in January 2010 and closed in June 2012, when water and electricity had been cut off due to unpaid bills. In the mid-2013, it was declared bankrupt due to its debt of EUR 944,204.
