China ready to invest as much as USD 100 billion in the region
China is ready to increase its investment fund for southeast Europe from 10 to 100 billion US dollars, Economic Attache at the Chinese embassy to Serbia Julian Chi told Tanjug news agency Monday (2 December 2013) and announced that China wanted to immediately invest in all industries in Serbia.
All the chances are that China's current fund of USD 10 billion for investments in the region will be increased if that money is spent and if there are enough projects because that amount is flexible and has no limit, Chi said after opening the 1st China-Serbia business forum "Economy and Trade - Opportunity for Development".
- We want to invest in all industries in Serbia, but it depends on the Serbian government and Serbian companies whether these investments will be implemented - Chi stressed.
As he pointed out, Serbia has lately made a great progress in attracting Chinese investments as it is the only country in the region to have three or four large Chinese investments under implementation.
The China-Serbia business forum is organized by the Trade Ministry of the People's Republic of China in cooperation with Belmax. This event aims to facilitate further development of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The plan is to make this forum a traditional platform for direct contact and exchange of knowledge and experience between entrepreneurs, businessmen and economic officials.
