Serbia and Romania to improve cooperation in energy sector

Serbian Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection Zorana Mihajlovic spoke today in Bucharest with Romanian Energy Minister Konstantin Nicu about the improvement of cooperation between the two countries in the energy, oil and gas sector, Serbia's Ministry announced in a release.
On that occasion, Mihajlovic underlined the importance of the construction of double 400kV long-distance power line between Resica and Pancevo, which would make it possible to achieve goals in the energy sector on a regional level.
Speaking about the projects of Djerdap Hydroelectric Power Station, she reiterated that the Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection had sent a book of priority projects to the Romanian side and announced talks about the construction of Djerdap 3 Hydroelectric Power Station, a project of national importance to Serbia.
As it was assessed at the meeting, previous economic cooperation between the two countries is excellent with the 2012 trade amounting to EUR 1.4 billion and Serbia's exports to Romania totaling EUR 700 million.
