The first construction stage of Embassy Techzones IT Park in Indjija, where Embassy Group built 10.000 square meters of office space and invested EUR 15 mil, was finished. The Indian company is planning to pour a portion of another EUR 5 mil into interior upon buyers’ request, Ramgopal Narayanan, General Manager of Embassy Techzones IT Park said for eKapija.

- Mutual premises were finished and offices which companies which rent the space will use will be completed soon. The works will depend on their specifications and needs. Floors and ceilings will be built in line with their conditions because every IT company has its own requests for interior equipping – Narayanan points out.

The first people in March 2014

As it was said at yesterday’s ceremonial celebration of the first stage end attended by the Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivan Mrkic, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of India, Preneet Kaur, IT park expects the first citizens in late first quarter next year. The Embassy Techzones signed agreements on cooperation and in it has stepped into final stage of negotiations with a couple of big companies. One of them, as our collocutor says, is Novi Sad – based Schneider Electric DMS, a part of large corporation Schneider Electric.

Dragan Popovic, director of Schneider Electric DMS from Novi Sad, confirmed they entered the final stage of negotiations on their partnership with Embassy Techzones.

- Our company is the world leader in smart network and infrastructure field, with current 800 staff, some 300 scholarships and 560 attendees of our center for vocational talents – Popovic says, adding that together with development center in Novi Sad they will fill a large part of the park space.

According to Popovic, the company is planning to hire 10.000-15.000 people in Serbia in the next five to eight years.

- It is a realistic project which is implemented within planned framework. I hope that, together with our partner from India, we will succeed in achieving the plan to produce a part of smart networks software in Indjija-based IT park – director of Schneider Electric DMS points out.

Ramgopal Narayanan expects the names of other companies which will come to Indjija to be announced soon.

- Thus, 25 years ago in Indija, we started development of IT park with Microsoft, IBM soon arrived, then Fidelity and everything started flowing which is what we expect in Serbia - Narayanan announces.

During the last two decades, projects of Embassy Group have been directed, first of all, to business parks development for IT sector, development of special economic zones and corporate office space. The Embassy’s awarded business parks are used by large multinational corporations, listed at Fortuna 500 list such as Alcatel-Lucent, Atos Origin, ANZ, Cognizant, Computer Science Corporation, Fidelity, Geometric, IBM, LG Soft India, McAfee, Mercedes-Benz, Microsoft, NetApp, Nokia Siemens Networks, Target, Vodafone and Yahoo.

- Our main preoccupation now is to finish the first stage with filling in the constructed facility and then the planned investments in this destination will continue - Ramgopal Narayanan says.

He adds that the Indian company wants to become a sustainable cyber city and becomes the largest IT Park in Southeast Europe which will be the IT industry knot.

- We are planning this destination to become a high-technological, self-sustainable, completely safe, unconventional corporate space with the most modern infrastructure - Ramgopal said, pointing out that, apart from a large data center, other components of this destination such as production as well as a space for fun and recreation which all IT parks have, will be developed.

Our collocutor adds that the facility was awarded the gold LEED certificate which means that the buildings cuts operational costs, decrease waste, saves energy and water, decreases hazardous gas emissions and thus provides healthier and safer environment for renters and their staff.
