Odzaci-based industry fully exploited – After Magna Seating and Standard gas the end of 2013 to see production start in new section

In Odzaci, a factory after a factory emerges - after Canadian Magna Seating started operations a month ago, Standard gas is getting ready for the start of production in new section. Greiner packaging has been operating for a year with full capacity and the municipality hopes to see new investors.

During the last couple of years, Backa varos is becoming more and more attractive for investors due to well-equipped working zone and excellent geographical and traffic position. The Odzaci municipality presented in late October at the Investment Fair in Novi Sad its potential as well as successfully implemented investments.

Future investors could inform on investing in the Working zone 46 as well as on brown field locations and the support the local self-governance is providing if they opt for Odzaci.

As the representatives of the local self-governance said, a couple of big and successful companies which opted for their business expansion in Odzaci prove that the municipality offers good working conditions.

By the end of the year Standard gas to end the first stage

The company for production of fluid car gas is building a new plant at a very determined pace. The procured equipment will soon be placed in new halls. As the General Manager of Standard gas, Milan Masic, has recently said for Novi Sad Dnevnik, so far more than 80% of investment totaling EUR 6 mil has been implemented.

According to Masic, the works should be completed this year as well as the production start.

- The procured equipment for the completion of the first stage will arrive December 20 latest and the assembling will take additional 15 days so it is a realistic that the section should become operational before the year ends – Masic said.

Odzaci-based Standard gas already has a production-distribution center with 4.000 m3 warehouse space. Along with the investments on a new lot, new reservoirs for gas storage were procured so the warehouse space will reach 9.000 cubic meters. Raw materials for production have been provided for the next five years, which implies production capacity increase to some ten thousand tons, the director of Standard gas announced for Novi Sad Dnevnik. With these production capacities and a warehouse, the company will reach the top of the regional producers’ list in this field. Standard gas is planning to, after the third stage of the construction of the new section which is expected by the end of 2015, new products as well.

Magna Seating to hire new staff

Canadian company opened October 3rd a factory of seating covers and other components for car seats. Magna moved its company from the Czech Republic to Odzaci and the entire production is planned for foreign market, for vehicles such as Smart, Reno and Ford.

So far, Magna Seating invested half a million euros in the production section occupying 4300 square meters and they are planning to invest additional EUR 5 mil. They hired 314 staff and are planning to have 450 by the end of next year.

The investment will total EUR 5,664 mil, the municipal administration says.

Greiner, a producer of plastic packaging which is March 2012 bought Hipol plast is also among foreign investors in Odzaci.

Local incentives for investors

In Odzaci, investors have 22 ha in the working zone. All lots can be connected to traffic, electrical and energy, sewerage, telecommunications and gas network. It is 20 km far from Croatia and 60 km from Hungarian border.

- We planned decrease of costs for construction land maintenance for the interested investors, depending on the number of people they will hire – representatives of the Odzaci municipality told us.

Thus, for the programs implying employment of up to 10 people with open-end contracts, costs will be decreased for 35%. For ten to 50 people, costs will be decreased for 70, and for more than 50 people for 85%, and for more than 100 for 99%, it was stated in the guide for investors presented at Investexpo 2013.
