Construction of Clinical Center of Nis kicks off - EUR 13.5 million project to be implemented by mid-2016

In the presence of Health Minister Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, the foundation stone for the Clinical Center of Nis was laid Friday (18 October 2013) in Nis. This project valued at a total of EUR 31.5 million is financed with the proceeds of a loan of the European Investment Bank (EIB), it was announced on the ministry's website.
The new clinical center in Nis is the largest investment in this city in past four decades and the first facility to be built under the project "Reconstruction of Four Clinical Centers in Serbia: Belgrade, Nis, Novi Sad, and Kragujevac."
The foundation stone was laid by Dr. Zoran Radovanocic, director of the Clinical Center of Nis, and Carlo Orlanducci, director of the Italian company Inso that carries out the works.

The Clinical Center of Nis will comprise a total of 48,000 square meters of space, 26,000 of which will be covered by the newly built facility that will feature 17 operating rooms and a new space for the emergency department and offer better conditions for diagnostic procedures, Dr. Djukic Dejanovic pointed out.
According to her, works are to be completed in 32 months. She also announced that the construction of clinical centers in Kragujevac and Novi Sad would commence next year, whereas the new Clinical Center of Serbia in Belgrade would be under construction as of 2015. For the construction and reconstruction of four clinical centers in Serbia, the European Investment Bank granted a loan of EUR 150 million, the release reads.
