An agreement on EUR 15.2 million loan of the German Development Bank (KfW) for the construction of wastewater treatment plant in Vranje will be signed October 22nd, Vodovod Deputy CEO Srdjan Dekic announced Thursday.

He told Beta news agency that the loan agreement would be signed between the City of Vranje, Vodovod and the representatives of Serbian ministries.

- KfW Bank's loan is 95% gift, that is, we do not have to repay it. The Serbian government and the City of Vranje are guarantors, while Vodovod is to repay 5 percent of the loan, that is, EUR 700,000, with a grace period of three years - said Dekic.

According to him, EUR 10 million are earmarked for the construction of that wastewater treatment plant, whereas another EUR 5.2 million are set aside for the extension of sewerage network to the plant.

- The plant should treat water from the entire sewerage network of Vranje, including Vranjska Banja. We are currently trying to secure building land for the plant - said Dekic.

Vodovod has so far provided 2.7 of the required ten hectares.

German KfW Bank will also finance the construction of wastewater treatment plants in Krusevac and Uzice.
