Vojvodina Metal Cluster project ranks third in Europe
Vojvodina Metal Cluster (VMC), a project co-financed by the Vojvodina government, is the third best in Europe according to the European Projects Association (EPA). This organization is an independent non-profitable organization dedicated to research, development, innovation and international cooperation, and it also rates and ranks interregional cooperation projects of European regions.
Vojvodina Metal Cluster was presented with the award on Monday (7 October 2013) in Brussels, at the event "Open Days 2013", in which a delegation of the Vojvodina government participates. The fact that OSCE ranked first at this contest shows exactly how tough the competition was.
Vojvodina Metal Cluster, an example of successful connection between metal-processing companies in Vojvodina, is one of the key results of the namesake projects that is being implemented with financial support from the European Union. The project was backed by the Serbian government and the Vojvodina government, and its coordinator is the Temerin municipality. Vojvodina Metal Cluster has 116 members, business entities and institutions operating in the metal industry that employ a total of 6,500 people. Last year, members of this cluster generated a total revenue of EUR 300 million, 80 million of which from exports.
