(Dragan Djilas)Chinese company 'China Road and Bridge Corporation' (CRBC) is late with construction of the bridge Zemun - Borca and they are asking for prolongation of the deadline for 6 months and additional 19 million EUR, said Belgrade Mayor in technical mandate, Dragan Djilas.
-Of course, we are not going to pay anything, and we are asking them to respect the deadline, otherwise penalties will be paid, said Djilas on the round table with the subject suppression of black market in construction.
He said that domestic contractor is following determined dynamics for access roads, while CRBC is being late.
Mentioning that foreign companies hired in Serbia usually try to make things as they suit them, Djilas said that the Chinese were the most original, by financing the project themselves and building the bridge themselves, and even requesting Chinese supervisor. But, Belgrade hadn't accepted that, and it hired 'Lui Bezer' company.
According to his words, the Chinese claimed it was the way thing were done in their country.
Previously, Djilas announced that Zemun - Borca bridge would be finished by the end of 2014, and CRBC claimed the works would be done by the following October.
According to the previously signed agreement between the Government of Serbia and Chine, Zemun - Borca bridge will be 1.507 m long, 29,1 m wide and 22,8 m high, with a total of 6 driving tracks and pedestrian-bicycle tracks on both sides.

The bridge will also have structure for boats passage.
Longitude of all access roads will be 21,5 km.
The total value of construction should be 170 million EUR, out of which 25,5 million EUR is financed by the Serbian Government, and 144,5 million EUR by Eksim Chinese bank, after three years, fixed interest rate of 3% a year and 15 year payment period.
