(Dragan Djilas)City Assembly of Belgrade has dismissed Mayor of Belgrade, Dragan Djilas, and in the voting members of the Democratic party (DS) did not participate.
60 Councilors voted for the dismissal of Djilas.
All members of the City Council have been resolved from the mandate.
President of the Belgrade Committee of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Nebojsa Stefanovic, said today that the capital's debt is much higher than what the Democrats claim.
When speaking about loans the city took in the previous years, Stefanovic said that the largest debt was during 2009, 2010 and 2011 and that they are more than 644 million EUR, even without counting the debts of public enterprises.
- It's a lot more than 400 million EUR as Democrats claim to be the debt of the city, said Stefanovic and he expressed concern that the overall debt exceeds even 800-900 million EUR.

Earlier today, Djilas stated that he was proud of all the he has done for Belgrade citizens in the last 5 years and that he believed that in 6 months time he would once again be the Mayor.
- I'm sorry we don't have direct elections, although we'll have some other ones and Belgrade citizens will have opportunity to say whether we were going in the right direction, said Djilas.
