Association of employers to recommend set of measures to economy minister
Several associations of employers, including the two biggest ones - the Union of Employers of Serbia and the Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, have decided to formulate a set of first measures for the revival of economy together and recommend them to Economy Minister Sasa Radulovic within the next ten days.
Among the first recommendations is a request for a decrease in taxes and allowances as well as for much more efficient fight against grey economy. Employers will also request amendments to the Labor Law and the adoption of the Law on Crafts.
- The interests of employers are represented by several organizations, one of which is the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, but no matter how different our opinions on certain issues are, there is some common denominator, something we all agree on - and that is what we should do first in order for business environment in Serbia to start encouraging growth and employment. Through our own experience we face the same anomalies in the system, and it is for certain that we will manage to formulate moves that everybody is fine with. Should we manage to agree on the moves that are urgent and necessary, the minister of finance or economics will have to carry the burden of responsibility for the state of economy to follow if he refuses to make these moves - Milan Knezevic, vice president of the Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, said to Danas.
He also announced that businessmen would meet at least two times next week - first to determine a unique list of measures and then to present that list to Minister Radulovic.
