Cablex opens new factory in Platicevo near Ruma - About EUR 2 million spent on construction works and equipment
The factory was ceremoniously opened by Vojvodina Prime Minister Bojan Pajtic.
Cablex currently employs 90 workers and plans to hire another 50 by the year's end and 50 more in 2014. The plan is to produce EUR 2 million worth of goods annually, and people at Cablex are sure that the planned value of production will be exceeded by about 10 percent. Nearly 95 percent of production is intended for export, mainly to Russia.
By the way, the Cablex Group operates nine factories worldwide with their total annual production exceeding EUR 70 million.
Zlatko Jutic, director of the Cablex factory in Platicevo, expressed gratitude to the municipality of Ruma for enabling one of the leading cable producers to start production in this town.
- Our cooperation with local authorities has been excellent from the very start. We've spent two years in a rented space that failed to satisfy our ambitions to build a factory that will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our other subsidiaries. Now we have succeeded in this, and we did it much quicker than we could have done it in Slovenia. Construction works alone cost us about EUR 900,000, while the costs of equipping increased the estimated value of this project to EUR 2 million. We will soon start exporting to Turkey and Romania, so I am sure that great things are ahead of us - Jutic concluded.
Ruma Mayor Goran Vukovic said that Cablex was a real example of good operations.
The ceremony in Platicevo was also attended by Slovenian Ambassador to Serbia Franc But, it was announced on the municipal website.
