Leskovac-based BIM-tex invests EUR 1.4 million in new factory for producing cotton thread
Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has toured the BIM-tex company and commissioned the newly built EUR 1.4 million factory for producing cotton thread.
Accompanied by the factory management and the representatives of the local self-government, Nikolic toured the production facility of the company that is one of the leaders in the Serbian market in the production of various types of yarns for all kinds of knitting technologies. This factory has a capacity of over 1,000 tonnes per year.
BIM-tex was established in 1992 as a family firm under the name of Bim Commerce. Its core activity is the production of yarns for clothing and hosiery industry, as well as the production of elastic nets for packing meat products.
The company currently employs 99 workers, and it will get an incentive of RSD 120,000 per worker from the budget of the City of Leskovac.
Over the past ten years BIM-tex has invested over EUR 12 million in new machines and production facilities, which allows for the production of EUR 2.5 million worth of yarns per year, 60 percent of which are exported to EU countries.
