Swarovski to commence production in rented facility by year's end - Construction of factory in Subotica begins next spring
Swarovski plans to start production in a rented facility in Subotica by the year's end and hire, for a start, few tens of people who complete a necessary training.
- Swarovski's ambition is to begin production by the end of the year and hire first 100 people in the spring 2014, when the construction of a production facility in Mali Bajmok should commence as well - the web portal gradsubotica.co.rs cites Modest Dulic as saying.
The company plans on investing EUR 15 million in Subotica in the first phase and kicking off primary production that includes processing, connecting and packing crystals for export.
People at the public company Privredno-Tehnoloski Parkovi Subotica did not want to speak about progress in the implementation of Swarovski's announced investment in Mali Bajmok Industrial Zone.
- Swarovski does not want to comment on its plans until the agreement is finally signed, which should happen in about one month - Branko Guslov, director of Privredno-Tehnoloski Parkovi, told eKapija.
The City of Subotica allotted a building land of nearly eight hectares to Swarovski for free early last year.
